The MRL Group of Companies subscribes to non-leveraged investments.  This means that all properties acquired by MRL Capital Trust will be 100% owned by the company, providing security to your investment.  We strongly subscribe to the philosophy as proposed in Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2009 and Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2010 publication of our accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Urban Land Institute.

Class A Trust Unit

Minimum Investment of $1,000
Cash,  RSP & TFSA Eligible, RSP & TFSA Transferable
Prescribed 12% annual distribution
Paid in cash quarterly
Units (plus accrued distribution) redeemable at any time
10% penalty of principal if redeemed in first year
No penalty in year two or thereafter

Class B Trust Unit

• Minimum Investment of $1,000
• Cash,  RSP & TFSA Eligible, RSP & TFSA Transferable
• Prescribed 15% annual distribution, compounded
• Paid annually with the issue of additional Class B Trust units
• Units (plus accrued distribution) redeemable at any time
• 10% penalty of principal if redeemed in first year
• No penalty in year two or thereafter

Our Most Recent Acquisition

MRL Capital Trust is pleased to announce our most recent acquisition under contract in Three Hills, Alberta comprising approximately 48 acres.   This acquisition has 33 homes on the site, which are currently rented providing an immediate cash flow.  This leaves approximately 40 acres for future development.  The proposal on this land includes single family residential, multifamily, affordable housing and student housing, a senior centre and possibly a church.
